Mugabe's Role in the Cold War
Mugabe was a pan-Africanist looking for African independence. An Afro-radical socialist. So where does this put him in the game of the Cold War? I think we need to realise that the Cold War was in fact a series of regional wars and each had its own local, regional and international dynamic. And only if you understand this battle of systems and ideas through that lens can you understand what Mugabe's perspective in the Cold War were.
