The likelihood of further collisions is increasing every year. 100 million pieces of debris right now are all flying at 17 or 18,000 miles per hour and crossing each other in different directions. We've been putting stuff into space at a much faster rate than it's falling out. Like with everything else in our current society, it is nowhere near sustainable.
