The key to happiness and thriving is when you feel like you are aligned with a purpose in the organization for profit or not for profit that you're working for. Get invested in the stock market but if you don't want to take on a lot of risk I think that's perfectly acceptable. You can do it through blue chip stocks, really well-known mature companies such as Berkshire Hathaway would come to mind.
