Melissa Brackman was suspected of having an affair with Scott Ponders' stepfather, Terry Guy. Investigators ran more DNA tests and discovered that Beverly Guy hadn't actually been Scott Ponders mother. They compared Beverly's DNA to Brian Lucas' sample, revealing a match. Melissa likely happened because the two bodies were lying almost side by side. One of Scott's grandmothers had died believing he'd never fathered a child.
