What's Wrong With the Primary System?
The way that these primaries are arranged provides the worst kind of incentive structure for these people to pander. And I find Ron DeSantis so fascinating because he is Trump on purpose. The Democratic nominee for president in 1968 won zero primaries. It's a 45 year experiment that has failed wildly, wildly. That's what's wrong with the primary system. Our primary system produces terrible candidates that are not useful and not good for the republic.
