In 18 59 the comstock load was discovered beneath mount davidson, along the western edge of nevada. Over the decade that followed, a lot of things changed in the area. It's estimated that over the two decades that followed the discovery, close to 320 million dollars worth of silver was extracted and is now worth roughly eight billion to day. In fact, in the decade that following the discovery of silver, the population of nevado increased 500 % to care for needs dozens of boom towns rose up out of the dirt.
