Pinker's Enlightenment

i think im pinke's idea of the enlightenment is a very old fashioned one. The notion that these ideas somehow spread from western europe to the rest of the world, borders almost on the racest and i think it's very v way of looking at what was happening in the eighteenth century. There's also this notion that somehow, that rationality can somehow do away with violence. And i don't think it does.
