There was no point of switch in fact we fought socialism state socialism without embracing capitalism. I don't think we need to be trapped in that binary capitalism or socialism and this is very central to my book. Bulgaria has fared terribly as most of the post communist world capitalism has been absolutely brutal there, especially because it was economic liberalism did not combine with cultural and political liberalism so it developed as autocratic heavy messy yet heavy autocratic mafia style capitalism.
