The Function of Expertise in the Current Political System

Within the system that we're currently living in, which is a one party system effectively, expertise is defined by fealty to the party. So it's not the case that there is something wrong with being an expert because there is an intrinsic negative quality attached to that kind of acquisition of knowledge. I'm making an argument about the function of expertise within the current political system.
