In 2019 Joe Rogan was reaching an average audience of 11 million listeners an episode. In 2020 he signed his huge deal with Spotify for $200 million which was one of the largest licensing agreements in the podcast industry history. But then in February 2022 Spotify removed 113 episodes of his podcast because he said it was a word and used insensitive language.
