The Gloomy Sci-Fi of China

Economist Jason Zhang says Chinese culture is not gloomy. He grew up in America and watched American movies, which have happy endings almost guaranteed. But watching Chinese movies he found them to be very sad with no solutions. "I felt like the word gloomy and dark" was used too many times by Hollywood movie-makers for his taste," said Zhang.
