The Long Term Effects of Moving Firms in COVID Times

Inventors who must now commute longer see their patent productivity fall relative to inventors with shortened commutes. Every 10 kilometers increase in distance associated with a 5% decrease in patents per inventor and a 7% decrease in quality. The most productive inventors are actually the ones which are not moving as much, says Professor Enrico Cevallos.
