The Economic Reasons for Pirates in the Late 1700s

The economic reasons for pirates are pretty clear. Pirates were much preferred idonism as a way of leaving. In the 1790s the emperor ordered immediate execution for pirates if they were found guilty, so immediately after the trial. And their severed heads would be placed on pikes. The Vietnamese Civil War and the role that these played in expanding piracy in southern China and northern Vietnam.
