The Importance of a Human System for Monitoring AI Development
Do you think it's a good idea to pause AI development until we have a robust monitoring system for maintaining it? I'm gonna say yes unambiguously to that. Pauseing for six months probably won't hurt us but it could save civilization. If the law tried to make AI illegal I think it could do it. Right Google is not gonna violate the law they have too much of risk. So I think you underestimate how effectively the law could shut down AI.
