COVID - Why Is It So Important?

For the second Monday running in Auckland, kids have been told to stay at home again. School attendance has been steadily declining since 2015 and was made worse by COVID. Across New Zealand, fewer than 60% of students currently attend regularly. The government moved to address this last year by announcing new attendance targets. That would be 70% of students regularly attending by 2024, 75% regularly attending by 2026.
