Sam Woolley says social media companies need to be more open with the ways in which bots could and do affect their algorithms. He is wary of solutions that put all of the onus upon the user, because he thinks they already have a really challenging time navigating these sites. The Institute for the Future's Digital Intelligence Lab has just hired Woolley full-time as its new director.
