Mendelssohn's Octet
Mendelssohn was such a prodigy that leading commentators at the time said that Mozart's childhood works paled in comparison to Mendelssohn's. Between the ages of 12 and 14, Mendels sohn wrote 13 string symphonies which are regularly played by chamber orchestras.
