What Is a Rock?
When I know what a rock is, I have received into my intellect in a spiritual way the essence or the form of what I know. And I do that in a way that's wholly immaterial such that I can describe and recognize another rock. So just to summarize, all knowledge begins outside of the human person. We abstract dematerialize the form of a rock from its material components.
