Acute Stress and Moderate Stress

There's acute stress, like an alarm bell goes off, someone kind of breaks through your front door. And then there's moderate stress, which is between, let's call it, up to six weeks. We can do some our best work during that; we fall into chronic stress pretty quickly. The way to reduce the sense of suffering in the moment is to be more fully present with those sensations. You have a limited attentional band with and you need spare in order to use it to suffer or to moan and whine about your situation.
