The Story of Avogardna

Joan and Ralph Avogardna met when they were in their early 40s. They married at Horsham's Salvation Army Church in 1989. The couple moved to the Whimmera region of NSW from Antwerp, where Joan had lived with her husband before he took his own life. Neither was religious but became Christians several years into their relationship. Their new home was a single story weatherboard farmhouse with a wide veranda that sat at the end of a 500-metre dirt driveway framed by trees.
