The Role of Conflict in Learning
Children just like adults actually create knowledge. They are actively creative and critical and error correcting and they actively solve problems. So when you are regarding children as buckets into which you pour knowledge, what you're doing is trying to compel them to learn something that doesn't address their own unique problem situation. And so all these children who are spending you know 11 years of their life or whatever it is in school against their will, you know what is it all for? If at the end of it they basically can't remember very much at all from that entire massive amount of time that they've been compelled to be subjected to teaching.
