Is the Critique of the Enlightenment an Attack on Reason?
In recent years, the critique of the Enlightenment from the left appears to have taken on some other attribute. The Scots that you admire are less subject to that sort of attack because they didn't ground their sense of right and wrong in reason. But nonetheless, yes, 18th century reason seems to be a bugbear for people on the left.
