The John Birch Society and Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan wrote a song about the John Birch Society titled Talking About John Birch Society Blues. He planned that play the song on the Ed Sullivan show, which was going to be his first televised appearance anywhere. But CBS standards and practices worried that the song was controversial and they told Bob Dylan: We don't know if I'm the fascists.
