A red flag is if somebody says, Peter, there's absolutely nothing else I can do. That sets a precedent for becoming a one-sided relationship and it will rear its head again in the life of the deal. Those types of prospects are better left to their own means because they will become a resource strain not only in the time of negotiation but in the actual deal beyond the initial sale. The prospects that don't go through the effort of doing that just are simply not worth aligning with at all.
