The Persian Invasion of Marathon
Athens and Eretria hadn't made any joint preparations to meet this inevitable Persian invasion. They either were acting cowardly, or had realized that they would contribute more to the fight back in Athens. The Persians pillaged and burned their temples as revenge for the temples of Sardis,. And enslaved the population, deporting them in accordance with Darius' orders.
