For a year I was homeless once I became eligible to pay council tax as somebody who wasn't full time in full time education and there was a bit of conflict in the family which meant that I was out on the streets trying to sort of forge my own future. You effectively had to make a case for yourself to be housed in these hostels but each hostel had a specific period of time that you could stay in first one would say four weeks, then six months or even a year. So they sort of put these not necessarily barriers but hurdles for young people to kind of make them find new places for themselves because then at least they will have that capacity to appreciate it.
