Wisdom is not something you just get by internalizing or memorizing a bunch of statements, it's given by god to those who are in communion with him. We're supposed to gain wisdom because wisdom will help us know how to have ordered lives that please god. It's interesting, even proverbs begins with, the fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom. And in james he talks about praying for wisdom.
