The Importance of Doing as Much Good as Possible

There is a view that if you talk about the importance of doing as much good as possible without any qualification, it sounds very much like your just asserting consequentialism. I personally don't endorse consequentialism or utilitarianism, so this is ofk little interest to me. But none the less, believe that we have very strong obligations of beneficence, very strong obligations to help others and promote the welfare of others. We should be especially concerned about helping more people as opposed to fewer.
