Edward and the Earl of Warwick
Warwick's troops finally confront Edward's army at Barnet just north of London on Easter Sunday April 1471. A thick fog descends on the battlefield and in the ensuing confusion Warwick's men attack their own army. Between the weather and three Yorkist brothers Warwick's army is utterly destroyed. The last remnants of rebellion are wiped out three weeks later at Tukesbury. During the battle the erstwhile prince of Wales, Henry and Margaret's 17 year old son is killed. There can be no doubt that Warwick, the kingmaker, is dead.
