I'm an Americana Artist. Is It a Good Idea?
I'm hoping, you know, I am. It's really hard to explain to people what that means when you're like, they say, I'm an Americana artist because it's not front and center of people's daily experience in certain places. The genre itself is so expansive and makes at this point, no sense. There are people right now who are really popular in Americana, like the brandy Carliles or whatever. They don't even show Americana artists on TV. If there was a queen of Americana, she would be Lucinda Williams.
