First Person vs Third Person

I like leaning into first person because I think that first person comes with an implied authority and truthfulness, whether or not you're writing something that's complete fiction. The listener is able to kind of put themselves in the shoes of the person singing a much larger degree than if you're writing a third person. And I think it's why people are fans of this band is that if I'm singing in first person and they're relating to what I'm singing about... They're not thinking of me doing those things, they're seeing themselves do.
