The Fear of the Algorithm
I would say as a freelance filmmaker, everywhere that I work with almost every institution, there seems to be this fear of the algorithm. There's like a deep pervasive kind of like anxiety about the algorithm. We are actually leaning on institutions, you know, like old fashioned brick and mortar like universities on libraries to like subscribe to this so like beyond individual subscribers. And they're not worried about like the first 15 seconds hooking you in the way that like YouTube does or something. That was definitely like the selling point for us when we were starting out, but at this point, it needs to be communicative,. You know, we're not really here to showcase video art.
