The Winklevoss twins used air gap paper wallets to store their 1-2% of Bitcoin. The idea behind a wallet is that you control your coins, not the other way around. A convenient exchange like Gemini or Coinbase can open yourself up for hackers and theft. But if it's more inconvenient than having a paper wallet, there are still ways to keep money safe.
