Tip for a Transtracheal Lidocaine Injection

Lidocaine injections can be pretty effective as a transtracheal lidocaine injection. Be ready, they're going to cough, don't have your hand right up where the needle is or if you do make sure you don't pull it out and stick yourself because they will probably cough and move. Always good to have a syringe of lidocaine that you can spray through your fibroscope as you go in case you do get into some gagging or coughing If you start to hit areas that you haven't numbed up really well.
