The Gendering of Pandemic Money

Domestic disputes over stimulus checks open up other questions about how the pandemic intruded into household economies. As women lost their earned income, did they also lose decision making power as to how much money to spend when and on what? This gendering of money is not new; husbands are more likely than their wives to retain separate personal spending money. We don't know if women have been more likely than men to spend that stimulus check for household expenses, but we should be paying a close attention.
