Jack Parsons and the Jet Propulsion Research Project
Arrowjet was given $3 million to further develop missile and jet technology. Jack Parsons continued to use JPL as his private experimental lab, continuing on with the same self-educated DIY attitude that had gotten him there in the first place. This of course caused tensions with the more hoity toity employees at JPL like an astrophysics professor named Frank Zwicky.
