Crystal's murder was an ugly scar that was never going to heal. Derek Smire confessed and told them it was Derek Smire who put him up to it. In his confession Mr. Styles said he saw another woman on the stairs and thought maybe that was Christie. Cagney and Lacey shift their focus to Derek.
