Why Solicitors Are Not Successing in the Judicial Appointments Commission

There appears to be a glass ceiling from those from the solicitor profession. The Judicial Appointments Commission has said it can only recommend people for appointment if they apply to us. Solicitors predominantly are found in the tribunals and lower courts, but not strongly represented in the high court. Their case has been taken up by the law society's first black president Stephanie Boyce.
