Inspector poletsky was active in creating the secret polish army. The tanja armi polska is a national resistant movement based on christian values, and not affiliated to any pre war political wing. In one version he deliberately volunteered to allow himself to be captured by the occupying germans so that he could infiltrate oswitz concentration camp. And along with 17 hundred other prisoners, under his secret nity of his name, serfinski, he reached oshwitz where he was assigned to prisoner number five nine.
