The Great Deliverance of the Exodus
Oswald notes the repeated calls to awake appearing in verses nine and 17 of this chapter, and then again at the beginning of the following chapter. The unit rouses zion to prepare for its coming deliverance. This is grounded in the fact that the lord's salvation and justice will endure here, outlasting all its and their adversaries.
