The Impact of a Strike on Junior Doctors
Junior doctors began 92 hours of strike action on Tuesday, along with a walk-out from nursing and ambulance staff last year. Almost half a million appointments and operations have been cancelled or delayed. One in three junior doctors are planning to work in another country within the next year. A placard at Manchester Royal Infirmary compared the starting salary of a UK doctor with one in Australia, a difference of nearly 20,000 pounds.
