As we progress further and further in time, more things become possible. And the example I like to give is actually when we may, may first contact with gravitational waves. That's an alien phenomena that's been permeating our plate - not alien in life, but alien, like something we had never knew existed. But we had to advance to the level of Einstein writing down his theory of relativity and then a hundred years of technological development to even see that phenomena.
