The Unpredictability of War

The friction of war and the unpredictability of what will happen, is greater than fan boys like to think. If you face a foe that is really committed to fighting you, even if it's less well armed,  it can resist effectively for a very long time. Even if you occupy portions of it, you will discover that your occupation isn't worth very much. And overtime, it will be degraded by partisan war. i used to be a serious player of good, high quality military simulation games. One of things that comes through in both games and reading is claus witt’s friction of war with his ‘unpredictable’ nature.
