Cirrhosis - What Is It and How Do You Define It?
Cirrhosis simply put in reflects the combination of fibrosis which is a progressive disorder of the liver reflecting a whole variety of etiologies and injuries to the liver. Once it has become largely irreversible we've entered a state that we have broadly called cirrhosis. In our patient she would be considered a decompensated cirrhotic through the presence of sitees as well as her history of encephalopathy.
