Music was always about fandom. It was never not about fandom except potentially in the streaming era. Most streaming services operate on like a pro rat a structure, whereas like my $10 subscription to a streaming service is going to go to the streaming service. And then the artists get paid out on the percentage of the total money that the streaming service brought in and is paying out based on the total streams on the entire platform. So even though I might have only listened to one artist this month, they're not really going to get the majority of my money, it's going to gone to the most popular artists.
