The Correlation Between Diabetes and Diabetes
70% of diabedes end up with the development of what's called diabetic peripheral neuropathy, with a loss of protective sensation. Without appropriate sensation to their feet, they are more prone to friction, blisters, wounds, foreign bodies. An open wound has a 50 % likelihood of become infected. An infected wound has a 20 percent likelihood of going on to amputation. We have to prevent that first wound from ever occurring,. which means we have to be getting access to these individuals early, and often., typically from the date of diagnosis of diabetess when we would like to have them tunately.
