The Evolution of Male Ants

The male ant is thought to be sterile because he deploys it. Scientists tested this theory by looking at the cells in one of their legs. They found that each male cell only contains one copy of each chromosome. The whole body carried two sets of chromosome, but each does only carry one copy.
