The Face and the Crab
One of my favorite stories of selection of artificial selection humans being involved in the selection of domesticated animals, it was Carl Sagan and I think it was in the cosmos series. It's such an amazing thing that human creativity and human ideas can affect the natural world. Whether it's true or not it actually as a hypothetical model would be a great example of kind of unconscious domestication Whereas human behavior in this case they weren't throwing those crabs back with the intention of their great grandchildren having all crabs with faces on their back of their shells. They were doing it for a completely different reason and it happened to in this hypothetical scenario lead to a complete change in the population of crab.
