The Manhattan Project and the Duet Principle
Hamburg bombing killed the same number of people as die in the British Blitz full stop. The idea is that you'll bring a quick end to a war by using destruction like this, and that's how you morally justify it to us. And the very high end of this is what Oppenheim is doing, the Manhattan Project. Exactly that. But well, I think it's really interesting work going backwards and looking at the build up to the decision to bomb Hamburg.
