Wells Fargo fined $1.7 billion by the CFPB for freezing 16 million customers' accounts and charging surprise overdraft fees. The bank also denied thousands of mortgage loan modifications, which in some cases led to wrongful foreclosures. This is obviously done on purpose because it's impacting its oral loans. It looks like this is just the beginning of these fines where it's going to be over $5 billion in total when all is said and done.
